Imported to Italy by Marco Polo after his trip to China in the 12th century. The macaroni was eaten salted or with cheese. With the evolution of the culinary art and cooking methods, there is today a wide range of recipes for this pasta dish!

Place the pasta in lightly-salted, boiling water and cook for 6-8 minutes. Drain and season to taste. The Italian tip: 7 minutes for al dente pasta, 9 minutes for tender pasta. Macaroni can be eaten with a simple drizzle of olive oil, herbs and spices. They're also great in salads, in gratin or with a tomato sauce. Keep in a cool, dry and dark place.
