Basmati rice is a variety of naturally flavoured rice. It's a long and very thin grain rice with a cream color and a delicate hazelnut aroma. This aroma and texture make Basmati rice the most sought-after rice in the world. The name "Basmati" comes from Hindi, meaning "queen of fragrance". Semi-complete rice allows a reduction in cooking time while retaining many of the nutritional properties of whole grain rice.

Allow approximately 60g rice per person. Place the rice in a saucepan and cover generously with cold water. Bring to the boil then cook over a medium heat for 15 minutes. Drain and rinse. Basmati can be eaten hot alongside your vegetable, meat, and fish dishes; it can also be consumed cold in salads. Keep in a cool, dry and dark place.
