Long grain rice is 3 times longer than wide (more than 6 mm). It is light, 0-sticky and easily separates. The first attempts to grow rice in Camargue date back to the 15th century. Thanks to the dynamism of the rice farmers and the region's sector, the Camargue has become the main production point for French rice. Since 2000, Carmargue rice has been a PGI (Protected Geographical Indication); this sign of European quality attests to the origin of the product and the consistency of its quality level. It is harvested very ripe for its taste to assert itself and is slowly dried under the effect of the sun and mistral.

Tips for use

Allow approximately 60g rice per person. Place the rice in a saucepan and cover generously with cold water. Bring to the boil then cook over a medium heat for 25 minutes. Drain and rinse. This rice can be eaten hot alongside your vegetable, meat, and fish dishes. It can also be consumed cold in salads. Keep in a cool, dry and dark place.
